Marching swiftly to the end:

15. Car.

16. Sunglasses.

17. Green.

18. A corner of my home.
21. Delicious.
27. My name.
28. Trash -- as in, my kitchen is trashed.
29. Feet -- or teef backwards.
30. Toy.
31. Where I relax.

You can see that I missed a whole bunch of days in March when things got too busy or I was travelling. I'm afraid April started off the same way so I think I'll pass on April photo-a-day and resume again in May. I'm missing the challenge of taking a little thematic snap each day. It's so much fun!

Conversations:

Caitlin -- I'm only a couple of chapters into Veneer, but it's proving to be an excellent read so far.

Brenda -- you'll have to let me know if you end up reading any of them :).

BushMaid -- :D Reading Like A Writer is EXCELLENT. I learnt heaps from it.

Rebecca Simon -- haha! I didn't think of the relationship between Eggs and your husby. Hee! And yes, Ethel Turner was one of my childhood favourites, and even as a grownup, her books still work for me.

Rach da Axe -- Finish This Book is like a journal of creativity. It's basically an entire manual sending you on little secret missions and getting you to do creative mini projects. It's fun and quirky! I think you'd love it.

Wreck these instagrams:

Here are some random progress shots of my journal-wrecking adventures. It's become my happy little quick-burst-of-creative-fun project. Often I'll do a little bit while I am watching a show with my Mum, or late at night just before bed when I find a random scrap of something that I want to keep, but which I can't see myself making a collage from. Into the wrecked journal it goes!

Meanwhile, Instagram is my new best friend when it comes to quick snaps of the wrecking process. I know that Real Photographers purportedly loathe Instagram shots, but to me there is an odd charm in their fuzzy imperfection. It works pretty well hand-in-hand with the whole premise of the Wreck This Journal idea: aiming more for creativity than perfection.

lately (four):

I have to tell you: moving house is srs bsns. Not that I didn't know this already; if I hadn't moved about fourteen times and experienced it previously myself, my Mum's experience -- something like twenty-four moves, give or take -- would have enlightened me anyway. Nevertheless, I still forgot to prepare myself for broken fingernails, bumps and bruises, sore ankles, confusion brought on by multiple box-packing, brain-deadness, cleaning, mouldy curtains, and the inevitable tears that seem to accompany any transition stage in my life. So there's that.

However,
I also forgot to prepare myself for happy discoveries, the slow falling in love with a new place, the sense of overwhelming generosity of my parents, the struggle to articulate anything remotely approaching the right level of thankfulness, the kindness of a treasured friend (--bearing lasagna, no less!), the happy feeling of melting into bed each night, and the chance to actually pull forgotten treasures from my glory box and set them out in the new wee kitchen.

^ Also, there are red and white tiles.
